Indian Shopping Malls are Adopting the Digital World

The shopping malls today are turning out to be one-stop destinations which have brands that cater to consumer’s every required need. According to India’ Brand Equity Foundation, India’s retail market is expected to increase by 60 percent to reach $US 1.1 trillion by 2020.

With the evolution of technology, retailers are consistently striving to elevate the shopping experience of visitors. The continuous competition in the retail space is driving innovation and new trends to come up.

Competition in the retail space makes the need for innovation a must. Technologies like digital signage, interactive signage, wayfinding, LED displays and augmented reality are predicted as the powerful tools to enhance the footfall and create a mesmerizing experience for customers.

A digital display is a dynamic communication medium that attracts and engages the audience and transfers information in a visually alluring manner. The implementation of different content formats like videos and animation make digital signage far more engaging compared to a static poster.

A study by Arbitron research says that 1/5 of customers who saw digital signage ended up making an unplanned purchase. With customized digital signage software, a retailer can remotely control and push content to his entire signage network on a real-time basis with just one click.

The size of digital displays is modern and sleek, covering a small area due to space constraints in retail. Lightweight ultra-slim and transparent LED displays require no support structure and are generally installed as window displays or as point -of- purchase displays.

These vibrant displays amplify the store ambience and are perfect for highlighting promotional messages. Due to the different shapes of LED displays such as cylindrical, oval, concave and cuboid and experiments with colors, the digital signage is being embraced by the retailers to bring in more sales and business.
