The company insists that orange colour can be used as a combination with process colours or directly as a spot colour. According to the company, its colour values are essentially the same as Pantone 021, a fresh, bright orange. The new orange complements standard ink sets for swissQprint LED flatbed printers and the Karibu roll to roll printer.
Interestingly, SwissQprint has also developed a flexible varnish for its Karibu printer. The company suggest that users can apply partial coats along with optional multiple layers to create appealing visual and tactile effects. It will accentuate patterns on wallpaper or produce elegant lacquer lettering on dark roll media. A varnish coating overprinted on process inks makes the ink layer more resistant to water and solvents – practical for printed products that see regular cleaning.
The varnish can also fully cover the process layer to provide surface gloss and an easy means of sealing. In addition to fending off water and solvents, this also improves abrasion and scuff resistance.
