Fujifilm offers wide-format inkjet printers capable of printing on cloth, resin, and other varied materials, for use with signs, displays, construction materials, and many other applications. Over the years, Fujifilm has enabled thousands of sign and display printers to transform their businesses.
And, three years ago the company had designed and developed a new breed of Acuity printers – the Acuity Prime and Acuity Ultra R2. This new range of Acuity Printers would be showcased at Fespa 2022, Berlin on May 31st – June 3rd 2022 at its exclusive pavilion called ‘Blueprint Live’. Fujifilm will also showcase previously unannounced models at ‘Blueprint Live’, with a total of six groundbreaking printers on show.
According to the company, the new Acuity Ultra R2, roll-to-roll inkjet Grand Format Printers (5 m and 3.2 m versions) is not only ideal for out of homes (OOH) applications such as single billboards and signage, it’s also perfect for high-end indoor displays where close viewing requires images to be exceptionally clear and vibrant.
Fitted with various colour configurations up to eight channels, the Acuity Ultra R2 is available with conventional UV curing as standard, or with an LED UV curing system for six colour and white configurations. This gives customers the option to choose either the ultra-high productivity of conventional UV or the comparatively lower operating costs and reduced energy use of LED UV, the company stated further. The Acuity Ultra R2 can be used to print exhibition graphics, POS displays, high-value graphic art, backlit displays, outdoor displays, outdoor signage, etc.
As stated by the company, the Acuity Ultra R2 is equipped with advanced features for flexible and productive printing, including a unique chilled vacuum table to enable printing of thin heat-sensitive substrates; An on-board backlighting feature to enable image quality to be checked during printing, and an automatic nozzle spitting system to maintain consistent print quality.
Fujifilm has also launched Uvijet AU – a new ink for the Acuity Ultra R2 that offers the same exceptional adhesion, but is designed specifically for LED UV curing. Uvijet GS is still available for the conventional UV curing system to support the dual CMYK high productivity printing configuration. Moreover, a new ink system – Uvijet HM – has been formulated to provide outstanding adhesion to a broad range of substrates while also producing a wide colour gamut. The new ink range is optimised to produce high quality, vibrant images day-in, day-out.
A new jettable primer improves adhesion still further for particularly challenging substrates. This removes the need for the offline pre-treatment of media before printing, saving time and money. The machine also features a printable area of 2.54 m x 1.27 m and can accommodate media up to a thickness of 51mm.
As announced, Fujifilm plans to make a splash at its first big exhibition appearance in two years, and its biggest Fespa presence in over 5 years.
