The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRCL) is undertaking the installation of the special kind of combined information signages at its Phase I & II Metro stations and also on all Interchange stations of the Delhi Metro Network.  These are being installed near the ticketing areas of the Metro stations. DMRC has already installed these signages at all the interchange Metro stations and the remaining stations of Phase I & II will be installed with these signages in a phased manner by March 2022. In all, over 400 such signages are being installed at 158 stations of Phase I & II and all Interchange stations. Similar Signages will also be installed at the stations of Phase III as well in due course of time, said Anuj Dayal, Executive Director, Corporate Communications, DMRCL.

In a statement, Anuj Dayal further added that these specific signages are aimed at helping the passengers with all Delhi Metro related information including ticketing, system map, first & last train timings, Do’s & Don’ts, helpline numbers, facilities for Divyangjan, Lost & Found, other statutory information, etc.

These signages which are bilingual (English & Hindi both) will be LED backlit at all the interchange and underground Metro stations for better visibility of symbols and words. All the elevated/at grade stations of Phase-I & Phase-II of the Delhi Metro network will also have similar non-backlit signages. These signages are a step toward overall signage standardization across the network, eliminating the number of signages in all shapes and sizes put up at various locations and giving a more aesthetic look to the ticketing area.

Meanwhile, a  massive  renovation   work   was  undertaken   for   21 stations   between   Dilshad  Garden   and   Rithala  Section of Red Line – aimed at giving them an enhanced aesthetic look and up-gradation of infrastructure. The renovation activities included New Signages; Toilet blocks and  parking  renovation; Finishing/  replacement  of  exterior  façade;  Painting  of  stations,  Improvement of circulating area and footpath, etc.

The metro network now has 286 stations with 28 interchange stations for switching over from one corridor to the other.
